Three decades of acupuncture practice, most of it in Hainan, and much of it with patients who did not speak her language. She developed her own needling method, wrote it into a teaching text, and has taught it to students from Germany, Russia and across Central Asia. Nanhai Tiaoshen acupuncture

Dr Sa Ren practises one she assembled herself, over years of clinical work, and then took the further step of writing it into a teaching text so that it could be passed on rather than lost with her. 多數針灸醫師施行的是承襲而來的方法。萨仁醫師施行的，是她在多年臨床中自己整理出來的一套——並且更進一步，將它編寫成教材，使其得以傳承，而非隨她一同散失。
The organising idea is tiao shen — regulating the shen, the mental-emotional aspect that classical Chinese medicine treats as inseparable from the body. Needling is applied at specific points on the head. What makes the method unusual is what it draws on: the holistic view and the body-mind unity of classical theory, TCM holographic theory, and modern anatomy, held together in one framework rather than kept in separate compartments. 其核心思想是「調神」——調理精神情志，而在中醫經典理論中，這一層面與身體不可分割。針刺施於頭部特定部位。這套針法的不尋常之處在於它的來源：中醫整體觀、形神一體觀、中醫全息學，以及現代解剖學，被整合在同一個框架之內，而非各自為政。

The method is documented in the peer-reviewed literature and indexed on PubMed, with an English abstract. Two things about it should be said plainly. It is filed as a case report — a record of a senior physician's clinical experience, which is a recognised genre in Chinese medicine but is not a controlled trial: there is no comparison group and no outcome data in it. And Dr Sa Ren is a co-author rather than the lead author; the paper documents her method, written up by colleagues. She read Chinese medicine at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, returned to Inner Mongolia to practise, and later took further training at what is now the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. 萨仁醫師成長於內蒙古呼倫貝爾的醫學世家——父母皆為基層醫生，她童年的記憶裡包含夜半被敲門聲驚醒。她就讀北京中醫藥大學，畢業後回內蒙古從事臨床，後赴今日之中國中醫科學院進修。
She had intended to specialise in acupuncture. Her teacher, Liu Jingyuan, redirected her towards orthopaedics and traumatology instead, on the view that the two disciplines share an underlying logic and that acupuncture would follow naturally once the orthopaedic groundwork was in place. She took the advice. Her own account is that returning to acupuncture afterwards, with orthopaedic knowledge behind her, made her needling far more targeted than it had been. 她原本打算主攻針灸。她的老師劉景源改而引導她學習骨傷，理由是兩門學問底層相通，骨傷根基打好之後針灸自然貫通。她接受了這個建議。據她自述，帶著骨傷的知識重回針灸臨床後，她的施針較之從前有的放矢得多。
She completed her master's degree at Changchun University of Chinese Medicine, and in 2002 moved to Sanya under the hospital's specialist recruitment scheme. 她於長春中醫藥大學完成碩士學業，並於 2002 年循醫院人才引進計劃南下三亞。

This matters for a patient deciding where to go, and it is worth stating plainly why. A physician whose method other clinicians travel to learn is being assessed by a harder audience than a patient can be. Sanya Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a Grade 3A hospital, the highest tier in China's hospital classification. Its acupuncture department is part of the State Administration of TCM's key specialty coordination group, and the hospital holds designation as a national base for TCM service export. 三亞市中醫院為三級甲等醫院，屬中國醫院分級中的最高等級。其針灸科為國家中醫藥管理局重點專科協作組成員單位，醫院並獲認定為國家中醫藥服務出口基地。
The Sanya International Friendship TCM Sanatorium, where much of the overseas caseload is handled, was built jointly by the hospital and the municipal government in 2016 and was designed from the outset for international guests.
